Top 6 EYE Program Teams Announced

Young entrepreneurs to shadow with traditional corporations and showcase Hong Kong innovation during trip to Singapore


August 20, 2016, Hong Kong - The EYE Program announced the Top 6 teams at the Battle Day, including 36Link, GreenActs, HomeTaste, iSTYLEUP, Lifespans Ltd., and Preface Holdings. The program is powered by Google and supported by leading corporations Asia Miles, HKT, and New World Development Company Limited. In the coming two months, Top 6 teams will continue to co-create products and solutions related to lifestyle loyalty programs, information and communications technology (ICT), and smart living; shadow with partners and executives; and prepare for the trip to Singapore in September and final round of pitching in October, together with their mentors.

During the EYE Program Battle Day, 15 teams pitched their business proposals to the judging panel composed of professionals and executives. Dr. David Chung Wai-keung, Under Secretary for Innovation and Technology, HKSAR Government; Leonie Valentine, Managing Director, Sales & Operations, Google Hong Kong; Stephen S.Y. Wong, CEO, Asia Miles; Steve Ng, Senior Vice President, Product Marketing & Solutions Consulting, Commercial Group, HKT; and Matthew Chan, Head of Digital, New World Development Co. Ltd., congratulated the Top 6 teams. They encouraged these young talents and innovative leaders to showcase the best of Hong Kong during the trip to Singapore.

We are excited to launch the EYE Alumni Network for program participants and everyone who supports young entrepreneurs, including our mentors, judges and partners. We will arrange various networking events and business matching; and connect the network members with local and overseas resources and connections. It's important to note that teams which did not advance will still receive mentorship from EYE Program. The program not only facilitate cross collaboration between young entrepreneurs and corporations, but also idea exchange and discussion among corporations. Themed “Innovation in Everyday Life”, the EYE Program aims to drive Collaborative Innovation across industries. This year, the program received over 250 applications and selected 15 entrepreneur teams to receive dedicated mentorship, 8-module Innovation Boost workshops and Insight Nights hosted by Corporate Partners. The program is supported by Supporting Partners namely blueprint, Center for Entrepreneurship of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Cyberport, DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited, Hang Seng Management College - Executive Development Center, Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University - Institute for Entrepreneurship, InvestHK, Jumpstart Magazine, K11 Concepts Limited, Lan Kwai Fong Group, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The Wave, Uber, Visa Hong Kong Limited, and W Hub; Strategic Partner SLLIN Consultants; and Overseas Partners including Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE), DBS Innovation, Infocomm Investments Pte Ltd (IIPL) - BASH, and Resort World Sentosa.
